TOPIC:

First time fishing East Chicago for us. Hated having to pay the tolls (already pay enough in taxes), but we did make it on the short list and launched for free! Thinking $25 would be pretty stiff? Very nice launch though. 

Surprised to see about 15 boats fishing, for a Friday. We started about 9am, to let the waves calm down a little extra after the storms. Dropped our spread in right outside the harbor. Saw only two caught in several hours, and none were from us. Fished along the wall, made the left to the next point, and turned around due to wind and waves. Zig zagged in and out, 2.0-3.0 mph, Thin Fins, spoons, dodger-fly, j-plug, high, low, and in between. Lots of marks, and some big ones. Couldnt buy a hit if we had to. Talked to one guy at the ramp and said they had 9 or 10.

My boy and I discussed over lunch, and decided there was nothing else we could have done. That's fishing for ya! Some consistent weather couldn't hurt.

 

I feel your pain!  You didn't miss the early morning flurry, that's for sure. It was a slow day for everyone. The water is very chalky, but it was like that earlier in the week when limit catches were made. Clearer water would help, but I've made great catches in worse conditions. Our action perked up a bit when the skies brightened and the sun came out. 

First skunking this year , hope water clears up soon
