Fished the mouth to just inside the ship canal this afternoon for a little bit. Marked a ton of fish but only managed to pull one brown on a red and gold Brad’s Thinfish behind a board. Water very stirred up on lake still.

i went out Thursday and had pretty much the exact same result. Went out of Burns Harbor and headed east over in front of the Dunes for a bit. Made a few passes and decided to run back to grab the spoon box I forgot in my truck. When I headed back out, I decided to head to Gary Light and give it a try. Went 1-for-3 with a nice coho in the box, lost a planer board, found out one of my reels on a downrigger rod was broken, ended up with a nice birds nest in my starboard downrigger cable and had a very bouncy ride back to port in the dark. Other than that, I did wrap up the last couple hours of the 10-hour break-in of my new 140hp outboard. So, a successful shake down run ... considering all the self-imposed blunders.
