Late report I've been busy. Got out for my shakedown Tuesday. Everything went well and we caught some fish as a bonus. Tuesday we got 7 kings and 1 coho. The biggest King was 15 1/2 lbs and a few 14s. Wednesday we got a late start but managed to get 5 kings and 3 coho. The kings were in the 10 to 12lb range. We ran 6 rods both days with 2 riggers and 4 coppers. Riggers were the most productive. Body baits and anything green worked the best.

Bob, 

How are you running your downrigger? Regular mono or SWR? I haven’t had great luck running a downrigger. 

Are you running 100, 150, and 200 copper setups? I usually run 50 ft leader on copper and leadcore lines but I’ve had some guys tell me they think shorter imparts more action to the lure.

We run mono on the riggers with sliders and have been doing really well on them this year. All the coppers you mentioned we also run and 50 coppers too when the steelhead are in. We use 20 to 25 foot mono leaders.
