I would guess the warm up this week will move much of the ice offshore this week.  Often, when rapidly warming temperatures start thawing it dislodges shelf and shoreline ice so even with the main pack of ice far offshore, there are still floating icebergs. I would guess East Chicago will stay locked up, but Portage should be "doable" and perhaps Michigan City.  I anyone gets out, good luck, stay safe and please post your results for us guys who need to wait a week or two before starting our season.

Looks like the south wind should blow the ice north?
