Fished with my wife, 10 year old daughter and my 6 year old fist mate son in the Powder Puff. I didn't expect much as I haven't trolled for Salmon for 6 weeks. We fished the 00 line from 100 -120 FOW and ended 1 Steelie, 1 King and 3 Lakers. My daughter's 13.5 lb. King took 6th place and my wife's 14.8 lb. Laker was good for 4th. On the best 5 fish weight we took first with 54.5 lbs. Lakers came off the bottom on trash can / spin & glo rigs. King came on a standard size NBK Spoon on a 225 copper and the Steelie hit a Lemon Ice on a 150. The auto pilot was a huge asset today with my inexperienced crew!!

Thanks for the kind replies! I saw 2 other Kings weighed in. I talked to the DNR head hunters stationed at the harbor cleaning station on Friday and after all of the charters cam in they had zero Kings. At that point I knew we would need some Lakers to get our 5 in the tournament. I had one rigger bouncing the bottom all day with 7 other rods targeting other species. Two go to meat rigs soaked all day without a sniff. To me the King and Steely looked skinny for their length. Don't know what it means but the lakers were pretty fat and happy.

Nice work on a slow day. I saw 1 King at the cleaning station and did not hear of any others being cleaned, not sounding good.
