Got out this morning to check out port engine and see if there was any steel around. Hearing there were some perch around thought the steel would be too. Took a look around the ditch on our way out not seeing much headed over to the port and headed east for an hour and a half or so, not a touch. engine was running good so headed out for some deeper water and some more scouting. Setup and hit a nice steelie as the last rod was getting set on a wire dipsey with a SD/Fly comdo, Worked around the area for a little while and listened to a little radio chatter with not much being reported from EC to MC we were in for a slow day. Ended up 4-5 all steel and the rest coming on spoons. Had hits on riggers, 200 and 250 copper. Didnt mark much but did see a couple balls of bait. Talked to a couple guys at the cleaning station and from radio reports sounded like a pretty slow day with a lot of low single digit reports along with some strikeouts. Wind was light when we pulled and lake was laying down, currents were pretty wierd and had to really watch speed on direction changes. Saw a few fleas but not bad, Temp break seemed to be at 65ft.

How deep did you get out? Wondering where the flea line starts lol. Good to hear you saw some bait. I have certainly not seen much bait offshore yet.

Thanks Bob. Haven't had the time to get out much, or even be around the marina this year, but felt pretty good to get out for a couple hours this morning.
