I thought I'd use the GoPro way more. I think I did 2 trips and never took it back out.

I did not know it is that tough to shoot some video. I would have thought with today's video gear most of the work would easier to do or done for you. What you guys are saying the gopro is not a lot better than a regular video camcorder? I would not do it either if it takes 2 or 3 hours of effort to produce a 10 or 15 minutes of continuous video.

Don, I can record the entire trip if I wanted too. I can mark important spots to find easier but I still need to watch and find the clips that are worth watching and splice them all together. A full days fishing might make a 4 or 5 minute video. No one wants to watch guys sitting in a boat bs'ing. I'm sure you guys do a great job of that on your own trips.

The camera needs to be on to catch the rigger releasing or that "one" moment worth recording.

I probably spent 2 hours on a 5 minute video. I'm not real familiar with video editing so an experienced user can cut that way down. Uploading a 4K video also takes a while and I have upgraded internet speeds. I think YouTube throttles Uploads and their conversion takes a long time too.

What greg says is entirely accurate. Oh what a pain it is. You will spend more time making the video than you actually did fishing

Exactly what I was referring to you. The inner Spielberg wants to come out and play. I haven't seen that much hiney since I sat through an episode of the Kardashians though. Great video!

The great thing about the go pro is that its really flexible for just about any application. It is small and convenient. When I got mine I thought I would use it a ton. It becomes a pain as its just yet another thing to mess with on the boat lol. Then yes, there is the editing. You want to make something real nice.......and you will take forever doing it. Its rather easy to just edit and put some clips together - certainly not tough. But if you want to put together something everyone is going to love well then your work is cut out for you haha.
