Saturday was one the best days fishing I have ever had for salmon. Beautiful day, the forecasted waves were nonexistent, and the fish were biting. Since the plan was to prefish a few areas before the tournament we only kept the decent Coho and bleeders, and released the smaller ones.

The fish would not stay off the lines. We finished up landing 44 fish (kept 15) and lost a good 12 or so more at the boat - all in just about 5 hours in the afternoon. The Inland Wall and inside of Gary Light were the two areas we fished. Inland had a better per fish average but Gary was giving up bigger fish mixed in with smaller ones.

Sunday for the tournament it was a different story. Our first stop was Gary and after a few passes we had picked 5 and lost a couple but the boat traffic was bordering on insanity inside the harbor. Based off Saturdays results we pulled lines and headed for Inland. The fish from yesterday along the wall were gone. we did ppick through the pack off the corner of the wall to finish our day.

Smaller fish and less action led to a 8th place tournament finish.

I did keep notes this weekend on what we caught fish on. Saturdays speed was 2.3-2.4 and today we found it best around 2.8-3.1

Greg,
nice report. Thanks for breaking things down. Will try to follow your lead there with some of our reports. Something good to work from.
Would be something others could kinda follow also for putting up a report with sharing a little detail.

Now, I'm blaming you guys for putting alot of sore mouth cohos out there from saturday, as I have no way to even try to figure why the sudden change is less then 24hours, other then they had sore mouths and remembered. :P

Really nice camera work on the action shots. Guys need to try a little video work as you seem to have the regular camera work down pat. I watch a lot of you tube video. There are a few southender videos out there but most are only a minute or so long. Way to go.

I had the gopro running for the first hour or so. I still have to get that thing out of the boat. The thing is.....with the gopro, the battery only last an hour to an hour and a half, then you have to start changing batteries.........and honestly its a pain. I videod the drive up the ditch, our run to gary, and maybe got our first fish. I will have to take a look at the footage and maybe post something but I dont think it will be all that exciting lol.

I do have a GoPro and my camera takes HD vid but I never seem to get around to setting it up much. I think it's because I dread the time spent editing and splicing of the video combined with upload times.

I can sort through a days worth of pictures on Lightroom and have them uploaded and report written in about 30 minutes. But I will make an effort this year.
