Fished with a rookie crew out of MC this am. Ran due North and set up at 8:30 in 175 FOW. Had good action between 175-190 FOW with 183 being the best depth. Ended up with 8 Coho and 1 Steel. Lost a few along the way. Thin Fins 60' behind boards and sliders on 60-80' base worked well. Divers didn't get touched. Then at around 11:45 we decided we had enough and the kids were ready to go so we headed in. Made it 4.5 miles and the 250 just died. Tried to start and it just turns over with no fire so he had a nice 12 mile 5 mph kicker ride home from there. Anyway boat is going to the shop tomorrow am to see what's wrong. Need to get it ready for Erie in a couple of weeks.

Hopefully. It cranks over freely and doesn't even try to start. Thinking fired ecu or possibly fuel pump. Fun seeing the kids catch some fish though.

Nice job on the fish hope you can get your engine fixed up quick. Glad to hear you were able to get back in with the kicker. Getting towed in is more expensive than you may imagine. Thank you for the report.

Yeah, that kicker earned its stripes today. The 250 Pro xs ran for 35 minutes and the kicker did the rest. I think the fix will be easy. I didn't say cheap. Lol. The extended warranty I purchased expired on the 13th. How's that for luck??

That's my luck too. I also have a 250 pro Xs what year is yours? You are correct there is nothing cheap on these big outboards. Pm me after your opti gets repaired I am interested in knowing what failed. Hope it's not your compressor if it is I will cry for you.

Hopefully it wasnt just the kill switch lol. I once spent hours pissed at my outboard for not starting and.............oh its the damn kill switch - youve got to be kidding me! lol

I have a friend who had the same issue. Ended up being as Dirty mentioned. Hope your is not costly Craig and your back on the water soon.
