UNFORTUNATELY I have to park my boat outside . Today I noticed ice , build up , in the motor splash well . My ? is , can I put Ice Melt materials there to prevent / thaw ice build up ?  I dont want the ice build up to damage the Aluminum decking .  Will the ice melt create an Aluminum corrosion issue ?

Thanks

I would think it would. Could you pour several pitchers of hot water in the area to thaw it out then cover it or line it with a dark plastic to help with future removal?

Most Ice Melt products contain chloride and it is very corrosve to aluminum......not a good idea to use it.
