Anyone use a lakemaster chip for salmon/trout fishing? Trolling? I have a hummingbird and just want to know if its worth it or what it would do for me.

I have the Navionics for North America and for me it helps with finding some of the contours for some of the hot spots that people post or mention as well as the Navionics will actual have some of them actually marked on the map by the nick name.

Actually I believe the newer ones have highlighted depths most recent structure that’s been dropped like pine trees bricks etc,

I have a Lake Master and Navonics. I bought the Lake Master to follow the contour for the I pilot and for ice fishing inland lakes. The chips are great at Lake Erie western basis and inland lakes because of structure change. Southern Lake Michigan has very little structure and I don't see value of the chips just for Lake Michigan.

Thanks for the answer. That's pretty much what I was trying to figure out. I wonder about the smartstrike chip.(very doughtful to me) but its claim is u set the fish your looking for and it will color in areas that "should" be holding fish.

I feel like that would work for walleye but no for salmon/trout fishing

Yea I have been doing the no chip option for a little over 2 years. Have built up some good marking points on the hummingbird with times of year, water temp, depth and everything like that.

Every year I try and upgrade some stuff. Figured a chip might be a option that's worth it. Doesnt seem like it for this application after some research
