TOPIC:

Finally put the boat in for the 2016 season. Man it felt good to be out on the water. Everything ran fine and even was able to do a little fishing. Special thanks to Jeff for helping me on the shakedown trip, you guys know how interesting a shakedown could be come if you attempt it solo.

Fishing was not the greatest. Talked to a lot of boats and the best I seen was a charter in our harbor had 4 kings (good big fat kings) and a few coho from the morning trip. Hand signals with other boats on our way out was showed that fishing was slow.

We stopped at 60 fow trolled out to about 100 fow trying to find clean water. Nothing.

Picked up ran in to the river water in 50 fow and setup marking fishrl right away. In front of the pier heads we hooked up with a really nice king who was not happy he bit out spoon. He took off for the board and jeff did a great job stopping him. He charged the boat I go to net he sees the net and bolts past the back of the boat under our other rigger almost gets tangled in the dipsey and gets off. Nothing you can do there.

Trolled to the end of the river water and was marking collums of bait on the edge. Tons of bait tried for a little longer no action called it a day. Have to keep moving to find the fish we did that just really late. Always next time!
