Good morning to all!
We decided to try an early afternoon till dark trip yesterday (5/16/2023). We  We powered our of the Michigan City port and set up lines (1:30 pm CT and pulled lines at 7:15pm) in 39 fow and trolled on a 300 heading out to 60 fow. Took a rigger hit in 42fow with rigger set at 40. It hit the slider but came off. We trolled in and out as we trolled towards the pink house. 

We marked baitfish in 30 fow out to 52 fow but we narrowed our focus from 42 to 52 fow. We never went into shallow water but I did notice bigger schools of baitfish in 30 fow but no bits.

We took a hit on the rigger set at 40, the a dipsy set on 3 out 104ft took a strong hit. We had a total of 8 hits and landed one 10 pound king. At 4:30pm CT we had a flatline on the out side pulling back so started reeling it in and the inside 120ft copper started hammering. Working that king and the third rod bent over and ripping drag. That wa a 100ft copper.  We, this king was coming to the boat but decided to swim across the 120 copper and tangle with the flatline and we lost all three.

We continue fishing and went back over that spot but no. Hits so started working our way back towards port. Never took another hit from 5pm to 7pm so we pulled lines and went in.

The 8 hits we had were all on spoons

Its was sunny went we went out but about 4pm the lake started to lay down FLAT and fog started moving in from the west. At 6:45 pm I could see the front moving in from the north end by 7pm the wind from the north statred picking up and colder temps moved in.

As we pulled up to the dock the wind was blowing from the north and flags standing straight out.
