TOPIC:

Was able to get out a bit this week and for those who don’t wanna read through all this, fishing is really good right now.  Get out if you can.

5/10 PM trip in front of the mouth, nothing special went 4/8 working 40 fow range.  Fought the waves and tough fishing.

5/11 and 5/12 were AM trips and the first day we went east to the donut on a march to MC until we ran into solid fishing.  Both days in 35-40 fow between the donut and pavilion we were making big bait balls and hits would follow.  Threw a lot of coho back unless they were bleeding or nice-sized.  Landed a 10 lb king on 5/11 on a mag blue dolphin.  Could have had a limit that day if we were interested in keeping coho- orange slider spoons and 2/3 colors were the hot rods.  5/12 we were on a mission for kings only but didn’t catch any and still ended up with quite a few coho as bycatch.  Speed was 2.4-2.6 and had some fantastic weather on both AM trips.  Attached some neat graph pics.  One not so neat of my 3 color falling in the water column.  Daiwa 27 if anyone is dragging bottom tomorrow.  Tried several times with rotators.
