Launched the boat at 5:30 tonight for a quick afternoon trip and my two daughters first salmon trip ever. We ran to the donut and set lines in 50 fow. We had enough people on the boat tonight to run a full spread for our boat (14 rods) but we didn’t need all of them, The hot bait was blue dolphin standard size on the free sliders with the riggers running between 30 and 35 down. We boxed two kings (12lb and 13lb)off those rods and watched another one swim away at the back off the boat after it spit the hook. We had both the riggers go together but did not stick either one of those fish right before we hit the biggest king of the night on a 150 copper with nbk standard size. Had a buddy that was out in his boat right next to us tonight that we called when we got our first king and let him know what it came on. He also took a king instantly on the same setup and boxed one at sunset on it as well. We ran an all spoon spread and put multiple baits in the strike zone but the free slider presentation seemed to be what they wanted tonight. Awesome night on the lake with my girls they had a blast. The smiles say it all. 3 cohos as well , 2 on the 100 coppers and one on a high diver. Speed at the ball was 2.8. Hope they stick around for a bit but I would say get out if you can. There’s some fishy water out there right now for sure. Tight lines!!
