Hello, It's nice when a plan comes together, and as mentioned in a previous thread , I did indeed get out on the pond on 2/26. We launched out of EC at 9:45 am to first explore the perch bite in front of Gary light with plans of then trolling out in front fire coho. When we approached our destination, I counted over 70 boats with the same idea. Unfortunately, the perch weren't really cooperating. We get isome n bursts but then a long lull. It was pretty much the same for everyone from what i was hearing.We ended up with only 8 perch in the cooler so we decide to start trolling for cohos. We received a call about some good action in EC . With the wind flipping at about 12:30 from west to north east , I figured we would head on back and troll close to our launch. Turned out to be a good move because when we were pulling lines at about 4:30 the waves were 2's and 3's.We had a nice steady pick out from the wall We kept 7, threw back 6 13-14" ers, and missed about the same so about 20 pullbacks in a couple hours kept us busy. I ran Thin Fins- red/black squiggles 50 back one side-:Firetiger at 30 back the other. Each side did about the same damage.Overall a great time to be out, i think allot of his did well. I have never fished this early in the year yet and it was sure nice to feel them rods bend. Til next time.......
