TOPIC:

Headed out early.  On the water by 5am.  Headed out of MC.  Started in 135 fow, trolled out to 165.  Picked up a 10” coho on a magnum wonderbread spoon 6 colors of leadcore within minutes of setting up.  Looked promising from the start.  Unfortunately we lost one on a rigger down 60 on a moonshine flounder pounder. Otherwise we trolled 4 additional hours after that without a sniff.  Trolled back towards MC and picked up a 31” steelhead in 65 fow on a a rigger down 48’ on a slider.  Sucker jumped out of the water probably 8ft.  She hit the net and caught an ice bath.  Also on a moonshine flounder pounder.  Radio chatter sounded like many boats had the skunk in the boat at 1pm when we pulled lines.  Thankful for going 2 for 3. Tough bite out there.  Didn’t mark hardly any bait.
