Good morning to all!
Im looking for information about the king fishing last year in August/September 2021.

Did the south end of lake Michigan have a king return and Coho that made for good fishing success?

Seems like I remember people talking about it but can't remember.

Haven't had the boat out all year and hoping fishing will get better.

I welcome your thoughts and information.

Have a great day!

God Bless

I wonder why this isn’t being updated anymore.

There's a new and improved stocking database in the works, with interactive mapping and tools. All the staff time has been put toward the creation of the new tool rather than keeping the old one going. It is done or almost done with beta testing, last I heard it was going live in the very near future.

The returning class of Chinook should be from the 2019  stocking.  Stocking records show 75,350 Chinook were stocked but no indication of where they were stocked.  Am I right to assume they were stocked in Trail Creek?

This year is portage return, they were switching back and forth each year for a few years. Last year was primarily MC.

I could be wrong but I thought that this fall will be a big run for MC. they had a few 1 and 2 year olds coming into to trail last year but this should be a good 3 year old run there.
Last fall was a big run for Portage matching what we had in 2012. In 2023 all 3 ports should have a return.

I think you're right Ed.  We've had this discussion on the boat recently and I've kind of lost track of who would have the return this year. Last year we ran to the port and did well so I was almost sure Michigan city would have the run this year.

I could be wrong, maybe Ben could chime in to clarify.

It's confusing with the rotation of ports but I do know we caught 3 year olds at the port last year so my best guess is MC.  Ben would know.
