Took a couple trips out of New Buffalo. Wednesday evening was first time in the water this year, and a quick test of new Terrova trolling motor with lifepo4 batteries and a Lowrance HDS 9 unit. It was a short trip and quite windy, but I managed to boat two Coho right out front of the harbor entrance. The trolling motor with autopilot made trolling into the wind so much easier and I really like the new graph. No piers in the water yet except for the tall concrete ones and it  makes launching hard on a solo angler,  but they will go in next week according to the worker at the launch.
 Headed out again around 8am on Thursday and had my first fish on while setting out the first lure! The action was pretty slow for me after that, and I worked hard to go 4/5 on all Coho. The most action for me was within the 1/2 mile of the river mouth. Usual suspects for lures - Brads Thin Fish in  bengal tiger pattern, and Wiggle Warts in orange/chrome worked for me. Great to be back on the big lake.

Thanks for report . Which lithium did you go with and how did they perform?

I bought 2 Ampere Time 100ah batteries and a Noco onboard charger. So far the performance has been great - no comparison to the lead acid batteries. Mounting a transducer on the Terrova was a challenge but you tube helped me figure it out
