TOPIC:

   I saw the weather was going to be good on March 1 so I decided to unwrap the boat and launch Portage with aka Jan Jan and Ddude2611Fishing. Plan was to head over to Gary Lighthouse do some casting and then troll. Exited the Portage mouth and headed to Gary with 1 foot waves, sweet. Arrived at Gary and saw a few boats near the warm water discharge casting and a few boats trolling. We spot locked and began to cast. Few hits after many cast and then netted a nice brownie. Aka Jan Jan had two fish on but never got them to the boat. Casting with jig heads/white twister tails tipped with squid. I used cleos and KO wobblers. The brownie caught casting was with a blue/silver KO wobbler. Saw other casters as well as some of the trolling boats netting silvers of some sort. 
Decided to start troll since casting was slow. Threw out two planner boards and two flat lines. All had various colors of Brads. Few hours passed netting two more brownies and two silvers. Unfortunately we had seven misses. Rusty I guess first time out. Headed back to Portage with a glassed out lake. Great day.
The run is getting near. Let's get ready.
