I have a handful of Thin fins, but was looking to pick up a couple more colors and came across I believe there called "Brads Thin Fins".
Can someone tell me the difference if any between them and the standard production ones, and also if they are a good quality bait for Spring Cohos.

     Thanks.......Greg

Thin Fins from late 70's? early 80's made by Storm I believe and are good baits but no rattles, and had a narrow sharper shape like small alewife.
The Brads Thin fins are more rounded have rattles and many more colors and very good bait. My interpretation might be a little off.

If it swims and has a hook you are more than likely catch spring coho on it.  Most angler friendly fishing of the year. By mid too late May they get a bit smarter and have to apply some more strategery.

Pre- Rapala thin Fins are the go to bait for the spring Coho. Storm made the thinfins and went out of business around 1996. As slack pointed out they made a non rattle version and they made a rattle version in 2 sizes. The Rt, and the ART. Brads is a China KO of storms ART rattle version.
Brads are a good bait for the spring Coho, some of us old guys just think the old storms are still a better version.

You can often find the Storm Rattlin’ Thin Fin in both sizes on EBay if you conduct a search for them. They often will cost much more than a Thin Fish from Brad’s.

I've never experienced much difference between the Brad's ThinFish and the original Storm 1/2 ounce Rattlin' ThinFin. However, the 3/8th ounce (smaller) RT from Storm is superior, probably because they are more appropriately sized for our March and April cohos.  Regardless, even the larger, Brad's version is hard to beat with any other lure. Let me put it this way.  If I could only pick one lure for the first six weeks of the season, it would be an RT and if I could only pick one color, it would be Red with Black squiggles.  AND I'd probably catch as many fish as the guy next to me with a tacklebox full of lures in every shape and color.

There is honestly no magic going on here.  Have a mostly right colored bait (varies) in the right depth zone.  There are a ton of great anglers here, but from what I have learned over the years, run a red and black shallow and a red and black a bit deeper, sometimes color variations matter, sometimes not.  Shallow is 5-10 ft, and deep is 10-15 ft. down.  My shallow baits are thin fish / thin fins / coho crushers and my deep baits are Berkley Flickershads.   Figure out what is working on that day and adjust as necessary and capitalize on what works.  Every day is different.

Plus one on the Bay Rat coho crusher.    A Rapala j7 is a killer sometimes also.
