Ran out if Portage today 5-12 to MC picked up a nice king on 5 color in mixed veggie mag spoon in 45 fow and then a good laker on 150 copper.

Running back to Portage the water was clean until near the port then a bit chalky from about 50' fow inward and big mud in river.

Curious if anyone has been fishing out 50' plus or more. Trying to make a Saturday plan and I know there is a big Shriner tourney out of MC so looking for some thoughts about heading looking for lakers or high silver fish maybe out towards 3 corners???

Thanks for any thoughts.

Sexy Beast!  I would say just keep working 40-50 FOW.   If its slow move out to 55-60 FOW.  Water temps are good.  Bait is close in.  If you find a fish or two "circle back on it" lol

Also - are you planning to do the Shriners?   I was planning to do it but my boat is still down :(

My schedule won't work to do the Shriner this year and I figure lots of boats down that a way so figure if I do get out Saturday I'll stick down this way.

I’ve heard similar about the shallow bite 15-30 fow right on the beach occasionally.  I haven’t gotten the guts yet this year to reel in copper for mono and go back to a simpler setup in close, even though I’ve had plenty of slow opportunities to do so.
