TOPIC:

Went out of Portage this morning and trolled up and down the muddy river water, clear lake water, and along the mudline. Clear lake water was around 41-42 degrees, muddy water was around 45-46 degrees. Did our best in the muddy water with three in a row all within a minute or so of each other, lucky, landed all three. Then it slowed but we picked up several more. Our spread which is basic but it catches fish were two flatlines with planer boards and two flatlines off the back. Brad’s Thin Fish in red and black squiggles caught one or two, in the yellow with pink dots got a couple, bronze with black back picked up one or two, and the watermelon looking color with the dots caught three, plus I caught one casting with a jig and squid in the ditch, plus lost another and my cofishers lost one and missed bites, where the water was around 50 degrees. In all good day on the water and good to be back in the Portage waters, last several trips have all been in Lake county. The fish were from 15”-19/20”, all keeper sized and fat. Only one coho had discernible baitfish in its stomach. Hope everyone had a good day as well!
