Solo trip Friday out of New Buffalo Friday night. Ran out 300 degrees to about 100 ft and started fishing. Lots of Laker action for awhile. Spin Doctor and fly down 65 ft. kept getting hit. I watched a big mark streak upwards and it hammered the bait. I grabbed the rod and watched the line disappear quickly. A braid dipsey rod started to scream too. Now what? Put the first rod in the holder and tried to horse in a steely on the dipsey setup.The steelhead escaped with 10 ft on the line counter. Back to rod #1. After a long fight I was able to net this 27# King. I had another screamer on the dipsey at sunset but it didn't stay hooked for long. Spin Dr and green glow fly was the best bait at 65 ft, and the dipsey setup 135 ft with an orange Moonshine spoon.
