Anyone have an idea why the fishing for silver is so poor right now ? Usually early to late June is a great time for offshore cohos...this year even though it hasn't been very warm, it seems a lot of fish have moved on. Just curious what everyone thinks.

Out of Michigan City Wednesday, seemed good to me. 14 coho and steelhead landed, 118' of water on 320 degree heading. Fish certainly aren't everywhere out there like used to be.... started in 100' on 330 and trolled west/northwest for an hour without a bite but steady for three hours once ran across a batch of silvers. Dodger/fly on divers at 60 and 70' out best, steelies hit variety of spoons on three, five and seven color leadcores. Several lakers released.

The lake is slow to warm this summer and there's a billion acres of places for the fish to roam. As their habitat diminishes, they will concentrate in areas where temps and bait can be found.

Yesterday left dock at 7 am from Portage, it was good at 95 feet on the W 7.5 GPS. Had 1 hot rod 200 foot copper out, green dolphin, had 12 to 18 fish on, coho & steelhead, for 2 hours this rod did not go more than 5 minutes in the water without a hit

had some fish on riggers using dodger and flies down 40 feet and small spoons on slider rigs
