TOPIC:

So Sunday I took out my boys and was the first time fishing with all my dipsey rods and downriggers . Put out an 8 rod spread, 4 dipseys-2:each side running 1 and 3 set out 2 planers one each side with keel weighted J-11's hoping for a high cruising coho or steallie and the downriggers. Had difficulty with downrigger releases which I'll address in a different post.
We headed out to the Gong and trolled in a north south pattern with the Gong being the midway point. Landed four big Lakers and a smaller one. Kept the smaller one to try in the fryer and kept 3 for the smoker, let a big one go to fight another day.
Had a great time out as my boys and myself each landed a big one. My one sons Laker hit 38" but was thinner, mine was 34 and the heaviest and my other sons was a respectable 31. All fish came on Blue/green colored spoons( sorry don't know the name as all my spoons came from swap meets ) and from 25-35 ft of water. Speed was 2.7
