We were in search of the elusive king salmon. We had heard that there were few down south near portage or Michigan city so we decided to go out of Saint Joe. Lines in the water at 9:30 in about 100 feet of water and we caught a steel head about 4 pounds and Laker about the same size. 2 hours later we had a small Laker. We got some Intel that a boat was catching Some kings in 50 to 60 feet of water. We decided to make the 1 hour drive south to give that a try. After about five hours we had our limit including an 11 and 16 pound king a laker and the rest cohos. Flasher and fly spoons and red thin fins did the damage. 2.2-2.6 mph at the ball. Mostly 15-25’ down and sliders on the riggers. Good luck out there!!
