Silly question but I’m curious does planting them at night increase their survival? Are they going to head out to deep water right away?

It's much better than doing it when the corms are awake. The little goobers are disoriented when stocked and easy bird targets for corms and gulls. Ought to save a few a least and probably many more.

Mike is correct as usual, many of the smolt were saved by the night stocking.
