We're coming up Saturday, is it better right now to go out of Portage or MC? Also, what is a good depth to start at? Looking to get my daughter on her first king.

The weather looks good for Saturday so thats good. Its really hard to say if portage or MC would be better. Weather wise, portage might be a touch better comfort wise based on the current wind forecast but the difference should not be significant. My go to would be 45-55 FOW, having baits down 20-35' at a speed of 2.4 to 3.0. You might range in shallower just to see, you never know. Regular and mag spoons have been the best, although flasher / fly and Jplugs have taken a few depending on the day.

I’ll be out Saturday if the weather cooperates. I would think the troll might be nicer from portage with the SW winds figured. Get baits down in the target zone (35-55’) and the rest is history! Spoons have been hot for us this season.

Hopefully the occasional 18’ waves tonight and tomorrow don’t screw it up too bad. Lol

I can’t figure this weather out Baron. I got $300 worth of rain gear delivered yesterday and I’m at work all day today and tomorrow. According to my model it should have been south winds, sunny, and 72 today and tomorrow.

Between the rain and the large waves I cannot see how it won’t be chocolate milk for a few days. Hope I’m wrong.
