Slopped my way down to Gary this morning hoping for better conditions than were there. It was fishable, but not real comfy. The main thing is the fish weren't all tight in a tiny pocket today. I started a mile or so east of the discharge to get set up where there were no boats and caught a fish when setting out the second line. Off to the races - basically made one large loop and picked steadily whether in the cold water or thermally enhanced area near the discharge. continued out past the lighthouse and there were fish out there, as well.
Hoping for a bonus brown, I ripped and ran to the ship canal to see what was up there. Plenty of action including a 5 and 10 pound brown. Caught fish from the lighthouse to the back of the turning basin.
Usual lures - RTs orange/black sgwiggle were work horses. Bay Rat Short Shallow in bumblebee was active and in the canal where the water was warm we took a few on a dodger/lly.

Thank you for the report mike sounds like things are starting to change. Was the water still all turned up? It looked ugly yesterday.

Thanks for the report! I’m headed out to the hole in the wall tomorrow. Will be my 1st time out this year. Gotta get my kids out of the house and catch some food.
