Saw some of the Southenders enjoying a beautiful lake with some co-operative Silver Bullets. Good job Fellas. :)

Saw Steelie Don, One More Time, and Kelliann, all getting in on the action.

Nice post and pics. I've been doing more shore fishing lately. Was slow on the pier in MC this morning. I only saw ! steelhead for about 40 rods between 5am and 7. Heard it was pretty good yesterday though. Hopefully they hang out in the lake a while, the creeks are high, muddy, and infested with mosquitos right now.

Wow, what a couple of days on the water. Seen 5 foot waves on Wednesday and moderate waves on Thursday and near flat water on Friday. We kind of seen it all, the good, bad, and ugly. On Wednesday we were able to fish the ditch and the edges of Marina Shores. We caught 4 nice bass, 2 large mouth, and two small mouth. It saved our day. Thursday was our day to do well on the steelies. We went 6 for 9 on them. We even managed a double that we got both in. Bites came in spurts at the ditch mouth. Red thinfish, a mag blue dolphin spoon down 12 ft on a rigger, mag f-11s and a orange tiger j-13 took the fish. Friday started out great. Ten minutes in the water we were 1 for two, thinfish and the goldfish mag f-11 took the hits. Then we had a drive by pass on one a few minutes later. Then about 5 hours of nothing but pulling lures. Around two thirty the fish started to bite again and we had some good action. We fought 8 fish and landed 2 in that final flurry for a total of a 3 for 10 batting average. Those red thinfish took all the rest of the hits.
The fish were hard on my gear this trip. I lost 3 spools of line due to fish fight tangles, 2 lost thinfish. one was broke off the other had the hooks stripped off at the body during a fight, and one of my convectors , a cv 20, suffered damage. It's line guide was stripped somehow. It was well worth the pain. Steelhead should be called " Fish of Steel" and wear a red cape and have on tights with a big "S" on it. I do envy you guys that live up there. I got to talk to some new guys for me on the trip. The One More Time crew and Limiter were all in the pack of boats. It is neat to be around good people on the water like that. My brother in law Dan Devault fished with me on the trip. It was his first trip to the lake and he is hooked on this like me. He is wanting to come back again in the fall to fish for some kings and get this, bring my sister!

It's guys like Bob and Ed that make things easier for us that don't live up in the lake area. All the info and tips are a big help. I hope to be able to do the same for others one day. Seems like everybody out on the lake knows you guys.
