Yes they should be. Hole in the wall is generally a hot spot starting soon.

I am also slipped at east Chicago marina on a dock. This year is probably the last year we will see returning kings for a while. The return has be dismal the last couple of years but I am sure there might be s fish or two around. Work inland wall all the way around to the ship canal.

Thanks, Pirate! We may have met at the table. Congrats on the laker title. I did see someone pulling side planers by the wall this weekend. At this point, I'll probably run for some lakers myself. They are good on the smoker and football season is upon us.

So if i head out of EC, where would i go to target Lakers in 2-3 weeks. Newbie here too, just started this spring with the coho run. Really enjoyed it.

Lakers at EC are probably more than 2 or 3 weeks out. Wait for water to get down to around 50 degrees.(or colder). They are coming in to spawn and looking for reefs. What? No reefs - so look for rocks - like the marina wall, the wall, Buffington - places like that. Never liked EC laker fishing as well as at Portage because of the weeds.
