TOPIC:

Had the privilege of taking a buddy and his two sons out this morning. Set lines at about 6 am out of Portage and trolled west. Coho started clobbering anything green or yellow we had out. The bite was steady with a green and gold spoon doing the Lions share at 35' off the downrigger. We stayed around 45' depth and focused primarily around the West Beach area. Coho died down about 8:30, bit we got into a couple of nice Kings (19#, 16.5#) and a decent Laker all on the green and gold off the downrigger. Coho switched to yellow and orange jointed Rapalas on flat lines and dodger/fly on three colors. Headed home at 10:30 with 19 fish in the cooler and a couple really excited boys. Lots of chatter on the radio of nice Kings and steady Coho.

Good Job Drew. I launched out of EC about 9 am and spent about 20 minutes on the lake before turning around and calling it a day before even putting a line in. Lake was too rough to try fishing with only 2 people on the boat. Glad you were able to get out and get some nice fish. I was going to strictly target Kings today hoping to tie into one of the nice kings - maybe next weekend.
