Want to start off by saying... H*ly Sh*t, that was fun! A long couple of days, but definitely fun.

Thanks to Dirty and all of the Hoosier Coho Club crew for putting on a great tournament.

Also nice to meet a couple South Ender's, Tmik34 and willbill219. Congrats to Will on his 3rd place finish!

First fishing tournament I've ever fished. No chance to pre fish due to work and weather. Only one outing this year at the beginning of April for a shakedown trip on the boat and some quick Coho fishing.

Day 1 was a slow start. Lost a good king on the low rigger on a slider early on. Picked up our best fish late in the day about a mile straight out off the lighthouse in 60 or so FOW. 20.3# King at the weigh in. That fish also broke my long / large hoop net... mean S.O.B...

Day 2 was more steady action, but extremely frustrating. Found an area that kept producing hits West of MC in the 55 - 65 FOW depth. Had decent fish in the box by 9 AM but nothing great. We lost more fish than we put in the box day 2. Lost two 15+ lbs kings within a foot of the net as they got prop / boat shy and whipped around to run away on their 4th or 5th approach / run (shorter, smaller net = shitty times)... had probably the biggest fish we had on the line all weekend snap the 25# fluoro leader off a 200' copper within a minute after getting the board off the line. Hit like a freight train! Took a very nice UV mag spoon with it...

If we would have even gotten 2 of the fish we lost on Sunday in the boat, we might have been in the money...

Day one, we were at 11th place with a 60.65# limit box. Day 2 we dropped to 17th with a 38.65# limit box.

Standard and Mag spoons of all color varieties took fish on riggers in the bottom 2/3rds of the water colum, with some standard and slim size free slider spoons taking fish as well. 100' - 200' coppers and 5 and 8 color Suffix 832 Advance 18# LC took fish as well, all with standard and mag size spoons. Divers didn't do anything for us minus a single screamer on Day 2 on a Spindoctor / Fly that quickly got off. Depth, lures, colors were changed constantly. Dipseys just weren't working for us... Not really a standout spoon other than a Green Dolphin mag that took a couple fish including our big fish for the tournament. Other than that, it was green, purple, red, and orange that seemed to work best. All silver backed spoons. Copper backed spoons didn't hit at all.

Already looking forward to next year. Would have liked to do the Shu's AM tournament this weekend but doesn't look like a fun 25- 30 mile run up there wave wise on Friday!

And a big thanks to my buddies Steve and Will who were my crew for both days. If you were there at the weigh ins you probably saw them wandering around haha...

Thanks! I might have to get in on that. I was looking for the rules for that one one but it doesn't appear they are up for the 2019 year on the HCC site yet. I looked at the 2018 rules and it looks like it was $50 entry per weekend plus $25 side bet for big fish.
