Finally got the boat in the slip late Friday afternoon. Got everything loaded up Saturday morning and headed out to for a test run. Ran well thankfully!

Started fishing around noon. First rod set was downrigger with double orange crush spoon. Went of before I even grabbed the next rod to start setting it, and landed a nice coho. Thought that was a sign fishing was going to be great and fast action, but it was a least an hour before we got another hit.

Had an 8lb or so laker hit a 50 copper with orange 00 dodger / blue fly, released safely. Smallest fish hit on a copper colored thin fish on a flat line back 50 from the board.

Lost a really good one on that same double orange crush rigger rod about half way to the boat, and missed several others on that same setup. Had a dragger on that same rod when I pulled it to go in. Probably should have just switched everything to that color pattern, but I guess I figured I'd give the other baits a chance to shake out. Fished mostly 20 - 40 FOW from the pier heads down to the end of Central Beach and back.

Not fast action, but not a skunk!

Yes indeed! I was really hoping to fish the tournament Saturday, but I had some relatively major repairs done on the boat that didn’t get finished until Friday. Didn’t have enough time to take it out and test it on Friday unfortunately. Oh well, next year!

I was hoping to get out again this morning, but ended up having to fix my land vehicle instead... hopefully it’s a smooth, repair free rest of the season from here on!
