Headed out of east Chicago at first light and pulled lines at 845. It sounded like the action had been steady not far from port so we set up at the first light and headed on down the wall. And kept heading down the wall.. Did not have a single bite until we were well off the wall past 2nd light. I was quite surprised. We spent the rest of our time a bit offshore doing laps and picking away at some fish. Ended up with 6. All on the normal body baits going 2-2.3. Good luck to everyone Saturday! I will be working...

Feel your pain brooch, I too will be at work Saturday morning. I am new to this salmon thing, I will be fishing coho for the first time ever on Sunday. Wish i could have been in the tourney, think it would have made a great first time out.

One of the reasons I got hooked on salmon fishing was due to working the weekend shifts. Being able to fish during the week is great! Fewer crowds and better weather. It always rains and blows on weekends, doesn't it? Thanks for the report!

I absolutely agree with that statement. The lack of people out is my favorite part of it! The hard part is finding people to get out with me mid week.
