Got out early and headed to Gary light. Trolled for several hours and not even a bump. Only saw 2-3 fish get boated. Packed up and went looking for lakers. Caught 7 in an hour and 1- 4+ Lbs. whitefish. Good day on the lake. I’m guessing the 35 degree water temp has the coho lockjawed.

Nice job. I’ve never caught a whitefish.

Seem like I hook into 2 or 3 a year while I’m targeting the laker jig bite.

AllSeasonAngler, great job on the fish! if you wouldn't mid, I have a question about your Humminbird on your dash. It looks like you have a Crestliner Fishawk. I have an 1850 Fishawk, and want to mount my new Helix 9 in the same spot you have yours. is yours a Helix 7 or is it a 9? Do you have it mounted on a RAM or some similar mount? I'd appreciate any feedback you can give me, as I'm having a difficult time trying to get it installed.

Thanks.

Yes it’s a crestliner fishawk 1750. I have the helix 9 and just used the mount provided with the graph. Some modification was needed to the console windshield. See the pictures below

Thanks for the answer ASA. Did you try to mount it with a RAM or similar mount, so as to avoid cutting the windshield?

No I didn’t. I wanted it to tuck in nicely where the old graph was located. Also I didn’t have to drill anymore holes elsewhere for the cables or buy extra brackets/mounts. I just used a rotozip and was careful not to crack the plastic. Good luck with your install.
