My daughter and I had the privilege of fishing on Spoonfed with my good buddies Brent and JP. We went 12 for 15 with 11 coho and one small steelhead. The bite started extremely slow for us. We trolled weat out of the ditch picking up 4 fish on our way to Gary Light. We did a couple circles in the Gary light but didn’t pick any up. Headed back towards the ditch and ran into an active bunch of fish about halfway between the ditch and Gary Light. We picked up 8 fish in about 30 minutes. Of course, it got hot right after we decided to pull lines lol. Red with black squiggly thin fish did most of the work 70 feet behind the boards. A couple came from flasher/flies. Ended up being a really good first outing.

Well done John. The beaches are great sometimes. One of my favorites. How 'bout those dodgers and flies? Pays to run a couple of them. We did pretty well with them. Your pics of the fish show coho that look definitively bigger on average than what we took.

This last batch of fish to show up are chunkers compared to the ones caught on my boat last week. Only had to measure one yesterday and I'd have tossed it back if it hadn't been bleeding.
