Decided to take the boat out Tuesday afternoon. The lot at the Portage marina was packed for a Tuesday with people parking in the gravel area. The reports I got from people leaving weren't very good - no fish or 1 fish.Most people I spoke with had gone west to the Gary light, so I decided to stay at the ditch I put an orange Wiggle wart out leaving the harbor and took my first Coho of the year about 10 seconds later! It was small and barely hooked so I released it. Lots of boats in front of the ditch, but very little action from what I could see. Ran over to the mouth of the port and trolled for an hour with no bites. Came back over to the ditch and managed to catch two more small Coho - both barely 16". Water is still very cold but it was good to be out and catching some fish. All 3 hits on the orange wiggle wart while trolling in the dirty water.

Good job sounds like you did better than most that day that’s always a good feeling.

Tuesday was a tough day. At least you had some action.
