Trying to set up my first Dipsy, snubber, leader, Dodger, fly setup . I'm having a brain cramp on the best way to set these up with SNAP swivels so that I can interchange my leader lengths as well as my Dodger and flies. I don't really feel like tying the fly directly to the Dodger. His there is anyone willing to explain in detail how you hook up your rigs that would be awesome.

I believe all of my dodgers have a cork screw connection on the end that you just twist the loop from the fly around. the other end just has a snap - I have a small snap and bearing swivel on each side for quick connect/disconnect.

Perhaps I don't understand the question. Which leader are you wanting to quick change with your snaps? When I'm using snubbers on the leader between the diver and lure, I use the Luhr Jensen surgical tubing type which have a snap closure on one end and just a swivel on the other. On these, the snap connects to the diver, the leader-line ties to the swivel. I then put a ball bearing snap-swivel on the opposite end of the diver to lure leader an connect the front end of the dodger to it.
Myself and other guys usually have their flies pre-tied with leaders. The leader affixed to the fly at one end and a Surgeon's Loop tied to the other. As Ed says, the loop just twists on the corkscrew thingy.
If you want to change the fly's leader-length you have to build a new one. If you are concerned about adjusting your fly leader lengths constantly, you are probably over-thinking the importance of leader lengths. Sure, a six inch leader isn't going to catch fish the same as a 36 inch leader with the same fly. Those are extremes and though either could be the key on a particular day, that's unlikely. In general, the color of the fly, color of the dodger, speed of the troll, depth of the diver and things like that are going to be more important than leader length. On the six-inch "coho" dodgers, a leader between 16 and 24 inches is probably going to work pretty well identically. Most of mine are 20 inches, give or take a couple inches.

Thanks guys. I wasnt exactly sure how to frame the question so your answers were helpful. I wasnt looking to change the Dodger to fly leader length as much as just being able to quickly change the Dodger and/or fly without having to re-tie. Seems like I could make it work if I had a snap swivel on both ends of the Dodger so I can make a Snell/loop on the fly leader. Might be easier to put snap on fly leader. I have some of the luhr Jensen 6" Dodgers so I dont know about the cork screw type of connection.
I'm sure as I get to trying them up it will make some sense.

All of my dodgers have a snap or the corkscrew thingie on them for attaching or removing flies. If yours don't, just get some split rings and large snap swivels and add them to the flasher. I have a leader file full of leaders pre-tied with snaps on both ends that I use between dipseys and lures and dipseys and flashers.
