Late start in St. Joe this morning. On the water at 9. It was a scorcher in the afternoon. No wind and the flies showed up. Real grind today. Only got one steelhead and one laker. The steelie was a nice though, and went airborne three or four times on a 300 copper. Hit a magnum green dolphin. Shortly thereafter, I managed to tangle that copper line with a 10 color, lost everything....the sweating ensued!!@#%!! No kings...DNR guy said to go north between South Haven and here. Fishing was better out deep today for most. Fished 120 to 180. We'll see how it goes tomorrow.

Everything I heard from this morning was fishing was better under 100 FOW. We started there and got three fish and once we hit 100 FOW everything went dead. Most boats were in the 70 to 90 FOW. We went out of the river pretty much straight but slightly to the left. I was told we should have gone right. Was a tough day for sure all around. Had a tangle with our 150 copper across a diver and a downrigger and managed to save everything but the leaders (cut the leaders to get things untangled) but didnt lose anything else including lures.

We went south a little today to 68 fow and hit them right away. Typically most fishing is solid in 70 to 120 in st joe yr round those are the primary fish grounds. If you ever need info about st joe don't be afraid to message me. I have a good amount of contacts plus my own info. Im willing to share.
