Choice was offshore coho or hope for Skamania in close tonight, but after ogling a charter boat catch of 40 fat coho at the Washington Park fish cleaning station and getting the low down on the bite, the decision was easy, but turned out we may not of gone wrong with either.
Started slow, missed first couple fish in 95' then nothing for 40 minutes (trolled out and away from fish as charter said 100-105 was best during afternoon) but once back in the 95' range the bite was on.
Had lines in 6-8 pm, 11 coho landed, missed many, and like most other reports here when the coho are hitting, it probably didn't matter what was on the end of the line, but for report sake, the set up was a pair of Toxic Toad slims at 35' on one 'rigger, pair of Lemon Ice stingers at 55' on the other and Bumble Bee slims on slide divers out 90 and 120'. All spoons hit regularly, although a pair of plugs on surface lines went untouched.
Meanwhile, inside 50', a friend landed five gorgeous steelhead in the same time we were out deep. And lost several, too.
