TOPIC:

Headed out to the Port Clinton area( Turtle  Creek to be exact) and was joined by my brother and one of my sons.  It was my sons first time out there , glad he finally was able to get the Erie experience.  First day, Friday, was a short , exploratory trip.  We spent most of the time between L and A can.  There were still some fish to be jigged up and we tried that but it was slow so out went the boards.  We trolled up 4 nice ones with a 26" leading the way, not fast and furious but not dragging either.  Saturday was NNE at about 12 to start so it was a good chop and pretty cold- 38° in the beginning.  My brother was now aboard too and we tried jigging again but with one walleye in almost 2 hours it was time to get on the troll.  We got dialed in and it was a nice day, punching a 3 man ticket. Sunday was a wind shift out of the SW at 15 and building up to 25 by 11 am. The plan was to get out and get off by 10:30. Had a later start than we should have but we still managed 9 on a single pass but then mother nature said get out.  Waves were 3s and occasional 4s and we did get a rogue 6 so it was time to head in.  Nice productive trip, fish were cooperating and we had alot of fun.  Wasn't the best weather but we managed. Saturday and Sundays fish were in the eater class 17-22 inches. Ran Bandits and boards 40 to 60 back at 1.7- 2.2 mph.Can't wait to get back in a couple weeks.
