We are less than 10 days away from the 7th Annual Fish This! Fishing tournament out of Chicago's Montrose Harbor. In addition to a fun day of fishing, there's cash prizes for the top 4 boats, post-fishing party with food, music and Chicago's own Baderbrau beer.

The tournament is a great way to meet other recreational Chicago boats who regularly post on various forums, you hear on the VHF and/or you see out there while fishing. Put some faces to some names, have a great time and catch some fish along the way. Hope to see everyone at the Captain's Meeting Friday, July 21st at 6:30 PM at Montrose Harbor's Chicago Corinthian Yacht Club.

Dave is there any slips possible for out of towners? Gas pump near? Sounds like a nice tourney.

Yes, slips can be arranged for out of towners. Gas pumps are available nearby at Belmont and Diversey Harbors (Diversey has the best gas prices in the city).

Fish This! is this coming Saturday, July 22. Boats leave from any Chicago harbor (6am) and return to Montrose harbor by 2pm. Band and cookout after the weigh-in.

*Tomorrow (7/18) is the last day to sign up at the regular tournament rate of $300. On Wednesday the entry fee will be $350. The optional big fish contest is $50.

*The Captains meeting is Friday 6pm at Montrose harbor and is mandatory in order to participate in the tournament.

Looks like a fun time. If I could get my wife on the boat and have her not get sea sick the after tournament festivities would be great an awesome date night.
