TOPIC:

Fished the Legends of the Lake tournament friday and then the Coho Classic saturday and sunday with my bad ass crew of Jeff (dirty), Alvin (kingme) and Steve (planetosea).

Friday: this tournament had no rule for how many lake trout you could weigh so we opted to find out weekend lake trout grounds. We hunted down a spot north of the gong and found a home for the weekend. Went 7 for 10 on trout out there. All the standard baits caught fish but that was my first time running some Fub Wobblers and it took some good lakers on the mag nbk. We placed 13/30ish with pro and am boats mixed in. 

Saturday: first day of the classic we ran to our trout spot and picked out our 10lb average in 15 min. Then we hit gary and portage down to the pavilion for silvers (weigh only 3 trout for this tourny). We found our 2 silver fish and lost a nice king on a 150 nbk in 45 fow, that hurt right at noon too. We ended day 1 in 7th place out of 40ish. 

Sunday: we went to our same trout grounds and nabbed a 12lb average in 3 fish in 20 min. We then hit the ditch in 51 fow hit a 11lb king on a rigger down 30 carmel dolphin. Circled the area picked up 4 more coho and no more kings so we moved on down the dunes and lost a few but popped a 17.75lb king on a meat rig diver out 130 in 58 fow. That gave us a solid box and were pumped!

Overall: finished in 2nd place out of 40 boats, took 5th in big fish and took some hardware home. Had the best crew to make it happen and a great weekend. Traveled a lot of miles on the water but it paid off.

Outstanding, and congratulations. I watched the weigh in livestreams, looked like if you could find a few kings you were going to do pretty well, not to many caught overall.

We did, weren't able to raise a King like we were aiming for, but we did find the coho.  

Always a great time with these guys.  The big king on sunday created alot of drama at the back of the boat lol.  Took all four of us to get him in.
