sounded like most guys really struggled today. We got a bit lucky we got to fish some water before all the boats moved in. Side note when there is a giant pack of boats if you follow over to a group of boats odds are fishing will suck and the boats scatter the fish. Most that know me well know I almost always fish out of the pack for this reason. Second helpful tip don’t cut boats off and turn right in front of them.  Some guys get really angry lol. When a boat is 60 feet behind your outside boards because you turned in front of them you probably won’t catch any fish. Be conscious of this when you turn in behind someone and run up there behind.  Third helpful tip these are cold water fish they are not lethargic there is no reason to be trolling less than 2 mph. Fourth pro tip if you choose to fish in a pack of boats take a look at what most of the boats are doing. Example if you are going to fish the Gary circle typically boats are all trolling one direction don’t be the guy that trolls against the flow. Fishing is supposed to be fun with friends and family not a fight with other boats to troll a straight line.  We should all have vhf radios sometimes you will get in a pinch use the radio and work together. If you don’t have one you honestly should not be on the big lake it could save your life in an emergency. Take a look around you might be in the right away and be doing nothing wrong but there are 3 boats that are side by side on a pinch point where someone will have to turn into you yield and move. Which you may have a boat beside you well he will have to move as well. If everyone works together no one gets angry and everyone can enjoy there day of work fishing. I personally really try not to get mad bc I know most guys don’t really know what there doing and I was definitely there at one point. Just trying to help some guys out is all.

Sounds like combat fishing at its finest. Another good rule is to shortening the line length and keeping your boards closer to the boat. The fish will hit right next to the boat and are the top 10ft of water so you don't need 100ft leads to catch them. Less is best in combat fishing, running 6 plus rods in a tight pack is just asking for trouble. When it thins out or you move away from the pack then open up your spread. Anyways great day on the water pirate. Mike

I see that st joe is on fire for coho. a 4 man limit from shore off the pier head. Plus have a friend who fished out of st joe from his boat this morning and took a 2 man limit in 30 min of fishing time near the pier heads.
