First time out in a long while-fishing solo. Finally got a chance to test out the Honda 9.9 kicker. Shout out to Frank at Calumet marine..... motor runs flawless. Headed to the state line north of Gary. Set up after marking some fish and couldn't get nothing to fire after 30 minutes. Was targeting coho with 00 dodgers and 2" blue crinkle flys. and spoons. Decided to move north about 2 miles after original marks disappeared, and changed to a complete coho set of flys/dodgers- had 3 in box when this screamer showed up. After clearing the other 2 lines and 2 long runs, slipped the net under my all time best- 30lb king. I think I need to pinch myself and make sure I'm not in Kansas anymore. Best #s were 49 and 20s. All fish but 1 on 150 copper with dodger/fly. Met Gerry undercover at the ramp- good to put a face to a post. I tried to hail you guys several times, but you were probably out of range- I think you were well east of me. Any suggestions on a good taxidermist will be appreciated. Fish On Nick.

Hey Ken, congratulations on a giant king!! Yes, we may have been bit East of you but even a boat right next to us we had trouble hearing. Believe there was a radio glip..we had trouble hearing any transmissions. Was very nice meeting you as well! We limited out with a mix bag of Lakers, cohos, and couple small steelies. No kings for us today. Tight lines Brother!

Natures way taxidermy in steger did my sons king mount and has done all my deer mounts
