I was able to take my daughter and her male friend out today. It was his first time out on the big pond. We went straight north out of the ditch and sat down in 70fow. Got all of out lines set and the dipsey took off screaming. Gave the rod to the new guy and worked that fish for about a half hour. I knew it was a good fish but didn’t know it was as nice as it turned out. 26 lbs. king. Biggest fish I’ve had on my boat. Heck of a fish for his first one! Fish came one a green fly behind a green board 125 feet back on a 2.5 setting. The daughter was up next and landed a 14 pound king from the same rod. As a matter of fact, all but two of our fish came off that wire dipsey setup. It wasn’t hot and heavy action for us today. Had to work for them but there are definitely still quality fish around.
