Headed out of east Chicago Sunday afternoon for a few hours on the water. Have been hearing about these big kings hanging around for a while now so decided to dedicate 4 of our 9 rod spread specifically targeting them. 2 spoons and 2 spin doctor fly combos. Fished around the hole in the wall and ways further out beyond. We were picking away at the coho when the port dipsey gets jammed. I pulled the rod out and handed it to my wife (who has only tangled with coho so far). After a couple of long runs we finally got the big girl to the net. 22.5# king. A new boat record and it just made our day! And then she says I'm not reeling any more today. :lol:

Pulled a few more coho before dark and headed in. Great afternoon on the water.
