Made it out for a few hours Wednesday afternoon. Made a few laps around the mouth of the harbor waiting for another buddy to show up. Picked up one brown on a flicker shad. Picked up our other guy and headed to the shipper. Made a lap through there without a bite. Picked up again and headed northeast between 2nd and 3rd light for aways out without a sniff so we trolled back in and along inland wall. Picked up a laker and a coho near the hole. Glad we had a little action at least. Hoping it fires up soon! Good luck out there.

It is amazing how many lakers are being caught . Those things must be everywhere. Good job on the quick hop.

Considering how slow and scattered the coho have been we sent a couple spoons near the bottom. So we were semi targeting the trout. But either way there has been more than normal caught from the sounds of it.

Thanks for the report. I see you're keeping the Laker, are you smoking it? Just wondering how you're preparing it.

That's up to one of my fishing partners..
I have smoked them in the past though and they taste just fine. Next small one i catch i may throw it on the grill. Just not going to make a habit of eating lots of trout. Ha

I smoke most of the ones I keep, and anything under 24" or so is great on the grill IMO. I've done blind tasting comparisons on friends and family w/ king, browns, steelhead and lakers and the lakers always are in the top 2 when people don't know what it is
